Walked in on a Thursday night and got seated by the bar. Hip popular restaurant with good tasty food and attentive service. We ordered the chickpea hummus, spinach cannellon (SOOO good!) and diavola with added prosciutto ( excellent pizza btw), they are all on point! Highly recommend!
I cannot say enough good things. From the initial reservation (in January) through dinner over graduation weekend. The service, the food, the attention to detail, and the personal touches! I will be forever grateful for how wonderful Blackbird's team made graduation weekend.
We went to on a Friday night at 830 pm. The place was packed (did not feel crowded though) and the vibe was nice right from when we entered. We ordered all vegetarian dishes and they were all so very tasteful. I would 100% recommend the Spinach Cannelloni. It was the showstopper of our dinner along with the garlic scapes. The bread that they give with bread and olive oil is large and very tasty. We also got the red and white wine carafes which very very good and a good deal for the price. I would make a reservation in advance
This wonderful restaurant will ruin you for Italian food anywhere else. From my house tonic, beet and ginger, to the pasta, pizza and the squash, oh my the squash!!, we couldn't have been more pleased. Our server was lovely and the atmosphere lively, but they still maintain an intimate setting. The prices were very reasonable for the quality. We will be back when we return to Bozeman.
I'm not easily blown away, but Blackbird did it tonight. Cool vibe, extremely good service and the food...just wow. We had the antipasti with the original and delicious combo of stracciatella cheese, pistachios and pickled (I think?) rhubarb. Anyway it was amazing. Then a Caesar salad that had something good working that we couldn't figure out. I mean, how often does one talk about their Caesar salad anyway? I'm an admitted pizza snob, but this rated very, very high. The crust was perfect. Finally a rigotoni in a spicy vodka sauce. There's some magic going on in that kitchen.
Staff is well informed and helpful. As a vegan, it was easy for me to have an amazing dinner. I ordered a customer vegan pizza and it was great. The eggplant was the best thing I’ve eaten in a while. Highly recommend this dish specifically. The bread and olive oil was simple and excellent. My date had pasta and the server recommended a wine that paired perfectly. We had a reservation which I think I’d recommend.
Great spot for an upscale but easy italian meal, including delicious pizzas. Beet salad was exceptional! Sitting at the kitchen bar was fun to watch all the happenings there. Fennel sausage has great spice. Tiramisu was great.
TLDR; really great spot for authentic Italian food. We came in on a Thursday evening with reservations are were shocked to see how full the place was. The line to talk to the host was so long that it took us nearly 10 minutes to just let them know we were here. Between the two of us, we ordered the eggplant as an appetizer, and the stracciatella and spinach cannelloni as mains to split. The eggplant is quite exceptional - the flavors are really unique and is now one my favorite ways of cooking eggplants. The stracciatella pizza was super nice too - the base was soft, the sauce was delicious. They originally brought us the stracciatella appetizer, and though we didn’t try any, it looks absolutely delicious- perhaps even better than the pizza.

I came here by a recommendation from two different people that also visited Bozeman. We got the pappardelle and caesar salad with tiramisu for dessert. All parts of the meal were SO good. It was probably one of the best Caesar salad salads I’ve ever had. The pasta was light and delicious. Parking was street parking, so make sure you factor that into your drive time as that area is busy. We made our reservation through Resy and that was a smooth process.
